This trekking route is popular for mountain valley & Gokyo lake which is located at 4790 m high. The valley is full of the beautiful lakes & is the best approach to the great Himalayan view of the Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Thamserku etc.

    Itineary

    Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival.
    Day 2: Fly, Kathmandu – Lukla (2840m). Trek to Phakding (2610m).
    Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m).
    Day 4: Rest Day / Acclimatization Day.
    Day 5: Trek to Dole (4200m).
    Day 6: Trek to Machherma (4470m).
    Day 7: Trek to Gokyo (4790m).
    Day 8: Excursion Gokyo Lake & Climb Gokyo-Ri (5360m).
    Day 9: Trek back to Phortse (3810m).
    Day 10: Trek to Khumjung (3780m).
    Day 11: Trek to Phakding.
    Day 12: Trek to Lukla.
    Day 13: Fly, Lukla – Kathmandu.
    Day 14: Departure.

    Full Itineary

    Day 1: Arrival

    Our representative will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and then transfer you to your hotel. You will be briefed about trekking and each day program. Permits & TIMS will be handover to you either the same day of arrival or the next day.

    Day 2: Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) and trek to Phakding (2610m)

    You take an early morning flight to Lukla which is where all Everest treks begin. The flight is about 40minutes to reach Lukla and then we have to trek around 4-5 hours to reach Phakding. We walk on a trail that gradually descends to Chheplung village from where we get a glimpse of Mt. Khumbila, a sacred mountain which has never been climbed. From here, we gradually descend until Phakding passing through the small village of Ghat.

    Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

    The trek to Namche Bazaar is about 6-7 hours. Our trail passes through a pine forest and we continue our walk on the trail that goes north up the Bengkar valley (2630m). We cross Dudh Koshi River and pass Chumoa and Monjo villages before reaching the entrance of the Everest National Park. At Monju (2840m), you have to show your Everest National Park Permit and TIMS Card. After complete register of trekking permit and TIMS card, we pass Jorsale (2740m) village and walk alongside of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. We ascend on a steep trail and reach Namche Bazaar which is probably the biggest town in the Everest region. Before reaching Namche, we can see Mt Everest from ‘Toup Danda’ depending on the weather.

    Day 4: Rest Day / Acclimatization Day

    Namche Bazaar is Sherpa Capital of Solu Khumbu region and visits Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center. There is plenty to do around Namche Bazaar and should spend a day here acclimatizing. There are also trek to the surrounding villages of Khumjung (3780m); these short day walks are designed to give us time to get used to high-altitude trekking. This is the first opportunity to catch a glimpse of the peak of awesome Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world and the other Himalayas such as Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde and so on.

    Day 5: Trek to Dole (4200m)

    After Namche Bazar, we climb steeply up to Kyangjuma (3550m) village from where; we can enjoy outstanding views of Thamserku, Kantenga, and Ama Dablam. Along with the views, we pass the Mong La, a very charming place perched on the spur of Mt. Khumbila. An ancient historical Chorten stands at the center of the settlement of Mong La. We admire the grandstand views of surrounding snow-capped mountains and valleys. We pass through forests, some waterfalls and bridges, we reach Dole; a small part place with few teahouses.

    Day 6: Trek to Machherma (4470m)

    Today, from Dole we climb steadily along the side of the valley, where the small and thorny bushes give way to scrub juniper as the altitude increases. The trail passes many summer settlements. We climb a ridge for an excellent view both down the valley to Kengtegaand up towards Cho Oyu and descend to a river and again climbs steeply to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa glacier.

    Day 7: Trek to Gokyo (4790m)

    This is the trek to reach one of the main destinations, Gokyo, following one of the melting-water Rivers which flow down from the west side of the Ngozumpa Glacier. We climb a steep rocky path inclined into the valley by the side of the glacier, passing the first of the holy lakes. We can see the Dudh Pokhari Lake and on its eastern shore lays the settlement of Gokyo.

    Day 8: Excursion Gokyo Lake & Climb Gokyo-Ri (5360m)

    Gokyo is a trade center where the Sherpa people run lodges to provide their best services to the trekkers going through this area. Gokyo is situated by the side of Ngozumpa glacier, said to be the biggest glacier in Nepal. So, this day is to rest at Gokyo and do some excursions in and around the Gokyo valley. We can make a side trip to Fifth Lake via the forth Lake. Then, we will climb Gokyo-Ri where we get stunning views of the super Gokyo Valley. As we climb, the summits of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu, Cho Oyu slowly come into sight and the view from the summit of Gokyo Ri itself is one of the finest to behold in the Everest region.

    Day 9: Trek back to Phortse (3810m)

    From Gokyo, we trek back to Phortse. Instead of retracing the upward route, we follow the eastern side of the valley to gain different views of Khumbila. The route to Phortse retraces the upward journey to Pangka, then turns east and climbs across the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier to Na. The trail makes a few ups & downs and enters to Phortse, old big village.

    Day 10: Trek to Khumjung (3780m)

    On the way, we can see Sir Edmund Hillary named school and hospital in Khumjung. There is a very old Gumpa at Khumjung which we can visit. We can find the head of Yeti in the Gumpa which is a historic story.

    Day 11: Trek to Phakding

    We walk around 6 hours to reach Phakdin which is a large village in the Khumbu region of Nepal where we already stayed on the first day.

    Day 12: Trek to Lukla

    On this day, we trek back to Lukla and spend the night there.

    Day 13: Fly, Lukla – Kathmandu

    Today, we fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla, and during the flight, we can enjoy some last-minute glimpses of the mountains. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we can rest, relax and go sightseeing throughout the day.

    Day 14: Departure

    Today is the last day of our memorable trip. You are free until your airport reporting time and we take you to the airport for outbound flight back to your destination.
