Langtang is the third popular trekking in Nepal after the Annapurna and Everest regions. Langtang Valley Journey is unbelievable begins through Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syabrubesi. It is passing through a Sherpa village located on the edge of the Langtang National Park.
The Langtang valley trekking in Nepal is Located in the north of Kathmandu, which is inhabited by Sherpas and Tibetan people. Which is in the middle of the Great Himalayan Range.
The Langtang Valley Trek features beautiful waterfalls as well as flower-sprinkle meadows with colorful butterflies flitting. The Sherpa villages were made of colorful stones that are picturesquely set in a wonderful alpine backdrop. The lushness of the Valley combined with the amazing scenery makes the Langtang area a true delight. This is probably why the Langtang Valley people’s lists on 3rd position for being a favorite in Nepal. Similarly, Langtang ranks as only third after popular destinations like the Everest and Annapurna regions. Langtang Valley is very close to Kathmandu.
The Langtang Valley Trek is an easy and short trek taking just seven days of trekking. Peacelands travels offer this trek as a tour package. That includes transportation to Langtang National Park and back, along with time to explore the magical Kathmandu Valley. It is best to visit the park in October and November after the monsoons have ended and before winter sets in. The sky is clear and the leaves are colorful, providing a photogenic background. March to May is also a good time to visit as the wildflowers and rhododendrons are blooming. After the earthquake of 2015, most of the village of Langtang is complete destroy, by an avalanche in which several hundred residents and foreigners perish. Though most of the trail has been repairing, the scars are still visible in the form of damaged bridges, abandon villages and crumbling structures.
Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival.
Day 2: Drive, Kathmandu – Shyaphru Besi (1460m).
Day 3: Trek to Lama Hotel (2340m).
Day 4: Trek to Langtang (3330m).
Day 5: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3730m).
Day 6: Explore around.
Day 7: Trek back to Lama Hotel.
Day 8: Trek back to Shyaphru Besi.
Day 9: Drive to Kathmandu.
Day 10: Departure.
Day 1: Arrival
Our representative will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and then transfer you to your hotel. You will be briefed about trekking and each day program. Permits & TIMS will be handover to you either the same day of arrival or the next day.
Day 2: Drive, Kathmandu – Shyaphru Besi (1460m)
We drive to Shyaphru early in the morning which is a starting point for Langtang trekking. It takes about 8-9 hours by public bus. The road takes us to the beautiful village at the foot of the mountains. We may be able to get a glimpse of Ganesh Himal after driving along the Trishuli River and descend to the small village of Shyapbru Besi.
Day 3: Trek to Lama Hotel (2340m)
This day, we cross several suspension bridges, cross through the Bhote Koshi River following the Langtang River. Then, we pass through dense Oak forest of Langtang National Park and reach to Bamboo which lies at the bank of Langtang River. After lunch, we will again continue our trek to Chantang. It will take around 2-3 hours to reach Lama Hotel.
Day 4: Trek to Langtang (3330m)
On this day, we will be able to see the beauty of Himalayas leaving the tree line behind. The trek route follows Ghoda Tabela(3030m) which literally means the Horse Stable. We pass through Chyamki village (3,230m), shortens, water mills, prayer wheels, and Mani walls before getting to the beautiful Langtang village. Langtang is a typical village and one of the oldest along this trekking route.
Day 5: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3730m)
Today is the short walk day and an easy day with slight uphill and downhill. We pass by many small plateaus, biggest Mani wall in Nepal and yak postures. Kyanjin Gompa is another wonderful land of Langtang surrounded by the Himalayas. There are some interesting things to explore, especially the famous Cheese Factory. This beautiful valley is on the lap of the Langtang Lirung.
Day 6: Explore around
This is the spot where we can explore the valley and climb several small peaks (hillocks). Therefore, today is a day to rest and explore the area around. We can visit the monasteries, the famous cheese factory, and walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m) which is the highest point of this trek, directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks.
Day 7: Trek back to Lama Hotel
This day, we again rejoin the trail to the Lama Hotel where you have already stayed.
Day 8: Trek back to Shyaphru Besi
We trek to Shyaphru Besi descending down along with the dense forest hearing anonymous sounds of Langtang River. The whole journey is mostly downhill that is why it is easy to trek.
Day 9: Drive to Kathmandu
We drive back to Kathmandu. The evening is free time.
Day 10: Departure
Today is the last day of our memorable trip. You are free until your airport reporting time and we take you to airport for outbound flight back to your destination.
