Nagarkot tour in Nepal is a popular tourist resort of Nepal. It is sitauted 32km east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,175m above sea level. The panorama of the major peaks of the eastern Nepal Himalaya including Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) can be seen from Nagarkot. It is famous for sunrise and sunset viewing.
Between October and March, a trip to Nagarkot will nearly always be rewarded with a view, but you will be lucky to catch more than a glimpse through the clouds of some snow-capped mountains in June to September monsoon period. It can be very cold at Nagarkot in autumn and winter.
Nagarkot originally owned its existence to the local army camp, but now it relies on tourism. Nagarkot is very much a one-night stay place. Only few visitors stay longer, although you can make some pleasant strolls in the surrounding country. There are number of walks down to Sundarijal, Sankhu, or Changu Narayan in the valley, north to Chisapani or south to Banepa (both beyond the valley).
